Juan de la Rica (b. 1979, Spain) received his BFA from the University of the Basque Country in 2007. Since then, he has exhibited his work in many national and international solo and group shows. His paintings have become distinct, with their flat and saturated colors + synthetic and clean lines. The themes of his paintings are varied, encompassing still lives, portraits, mythological scenes and more. Typically, he approaches these topics with irony and humor, but he always aims to for an open narrative, in which there is room for interpretation.
